Jeff and Miles were looking for an update for their logo, while paying tribute to its original design — an old lantern to symbolize the historic home of their coffe shop, Germantown Espresso bar. Having worked with them both in coffee shops, and freqented this mom and pop-like spot, I was thrilled when I got the call to help.
I dove in right away and brainstormed a few options. First, I wanted to see how I could renevate the old lanter design. Later, I decided to give it a new modern look.
The boys were drawn to the modern lantern and wanted to see how it would pair with the various geometric shapes shown above. So my next round was full of even more variations! From arcs to wide diamonds, this round gave options for design and font.
They loved the arc design, and you can now see it hanging proudly outside of their shop and on t-shirts everywhere! I also decided to throw in a few extra varieties of the different diamond designs in case they ever want to mix it up.
